The Sword, à ne pas confondre avec les canadiens de Sword, est un groupe texan formé en 2003, repéré l’année d’après au SXSW Festival (festival avec un nombre incroyable de concerts dans des styles différents se déroulant chaque année à Austin) ils commenceront très vite à tourner en première partie de groupes aux styles bien différents comme Mastodon ou …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead. En 2006 le groupe sort son premier album : Age Of Winters ; véritable hommage à Black Sabbath tant le style est proche (des deux premiers albums du célèbre combos), mais pourtant véritable réussite. Entre Heavy Metal, Stoner et Doom qui devrait ravir ceux attendant depuis trop d’année que la reformation de Black Sabbath accouche d’un album digne de ce nom.
