Ah, the 'Mats. I know "Let It Be" and "Tim" are held in higher regard by critics and fans alike, but "Pleased to Meet Me" remains my favorite. I thought the cleaned-up sound served the band well, and Paul Westerberg's guitar playing was even edgier than Bob Stinson's.

This record is seriously missing some Bob Stinson. [2] it's got some good songs but it probably would have been twice as good had Bob played on it. what a shame.

This is one of my favorite driving albums. I can't count the number of times I've crossed the George Washington bridge into New York while listening to this. Unfortunately, I've moved to the Los Angeles area so those will always just be memories from far away. "Skyway" and "Can't Hardly Wait" is my favorite duo of songs on any album, ever. I'm so happy they were placed together in the tracklist.

This is their best album imo. I just love the collection of songs on here though I would love to have heard this album had Bob played on it.

Apex of The 'Mats recorded studio output....some nice studio touches, but still rough 'round the edges!
