. . . .but of course the music ruled.
. . .even if we had to watch a bunch of awesome people die while listening to it. . .sometimes, right after they made it.
well, every year is worse than the last, and the only good things we remember about the last year is the tunes. . . .so, lets just get to remember that shit right now, because it's bumming me out. . .
40. Kill the Client - Set for Extinction
maybe not as catchy as Cleptocracy, but what is??
39. Ladyscraper - Pink
in a year where Venetian Snares released a full length. . .somehow. . .he was topped. How? By a kick drum the hits you like an aluminum baseball bat. .constantly. It's so abrasive, it's damn near metal.
38. War from a Harlots Mouth - MMX
So, you just made a major improvement to your sound and snared a ton of nonbelievers with your last record. Where do you go next? Bring back some of the speed and tune lower than hell.
8 déc. 2010, 2h20m par KMFCM. . .yup. . . .it's been a pretty decent year. . .even though I'm not liking some records as much. . .
here are the last of 'em
Rorcal - Heliogabalus
Take Admiral Angry. Take Celeste. Put them together. You get this.
It's an hour long song of course, which means there are about 10 or 15 or 20 minutes of what is pretty much dead air that don't need to be there. Would have had a higher rating if not for that.
Magrudergrind - crusher
I been hearing about the circumstances behind this thing for a week and a half now. I'm not really paying attention to all that. I just wanted to hear the bloody thing. Nobody was posting a download link in their article. It just so happened a friend linked BrooklynVegan's article. So, I just heard it and it's damn well worth getting. This band only get better. I remember when this bands songs would just go in one ear and out the other and not be all that memorable for the most part. Since Rehashed, they've taken it up notch after notch. Check out track 6. …
16 nov. 2010, 23h03m par McGerkeyAside from one or two of these, I mostly avoided bothering listening to shitty shit I knew I'd hate (so no No Age or Deerhunter or similar or similar bland hipster garabe bands I had already listened to last year). So that's why this is mostly positive.
I will be adding to this with more things as I listen to them.
