Was in Tivoli (Utrecht) last friday - sound quality was simply terrible! I have no idea how sound engineer f this up so badly. By the way there were only three live instruments, and it was guitar, contrabass and bass guitar ( one guy was playing on both of them sequentially). So no violin, cello or trumpet. And because of terrible sound quality you couldn't really hear that there are live instruments on the stage. So, mainly - big disappointment.

actually THREE incredcible records if you count the Mount Fuji album and the EP. But Here Be Dragons is still easily the best one they've done so far in my opinion.

I've just started listening to this band tonight, and as I sit here listening to Here Be Dragons, I am needless to say very impressed- enough to order the 2xLP from Darla Records. There is beautiful and interesting material here, that cuts into one's soul with the tensions and majestic transfigurations involved, each change leading not only to the next but to whole new realms of fantasy and fiction. The music is, as previously mentioned, majestic - yet not grand and self-congratulatory. It feels like jazz, with that sort of wounded mentality and haunting emotion, but the electronic and ambient passages really accentuate the dynamics, the interplay between the instruments and sounds involved, bringing this sort of experimentation into a category of its own. Some will go on about the debt supposedly owed to Portishead, but to me (and I’ve listened to Portishead quite a lot since their debut was released), this music goes places that Portishead only dreams of going.

its got nothing to do with the filesharing issue. illegal downloading is part of the norm in music, and we have no problem with it. the point stated was that its tasteless for someone to post the link to a download on this page, run by the artists. the person has taken down that link in question, probably because he/she knew it wasn't cool. as for buying music and illegal downloading, that should be up to the individual if they feek they want to support the artist they like enabling them to continue making music.
