Halos' singer and co-writer Dan Lyman fell in love with music, as a lot of kids do, in the basement of his parents' houses late at night, staying under the radar, listening to music he wasn't allowed to. He began Halos in 2004, at the end of a long, nomadic national tour. This required a return to the basement, which caused Halos' music to begin to mature into what it is now: a blend of modern indie rock effusions, dotted with elements of the band's influences-long, lost greats and other upstarts of their own peer group.
