The Dodos est un duo d’indie rock duo né à San Francisco en 2006 de la rencontre de Meric Long et Logan Kroeber, deux artistes solos. Joe Haener est venu se greffer au groupe un peu plus tard. Leurs chansons sont un mélange de psychérock et de folk.

La sortie de leur premier album « Beware of the Maniacs » (sous le nom Dodo Bird) en décembre 2006 fût suivie d’une longue tournée. Signés en 2007 chez Frenchkiss Records et Wichita, ils sortent leur second opus « Visiter » en mars 2008, puis « Time To Die », leur troisième album, le 31 août 2009.

Beware of the maniacs= good. visiter = superb. Time to die = hmmmmmm. Still better than any other 2009 release i can name though.

I found Time to Die to be an incredible disappointment, especially only a year after the amaaaaazing Visiter. But I can't deny that "This is a Business" and "Two Medicines " are stinkin' awesome.

Vancouver show was beyond enjoyable: small venue, flat gin and tonics, and the last (though slightly damaged) copy of Visiter on Vinyl.

to everyone here who isn't completely sold on time to die, all i have to say is you MUST see them perform some of the tracks live. Completely mindblowing. Two Medicines, Fables, Small Deaths, Long Form, Strums etc. INSANE. It's definitely a progression from Visiter. I can't wait to hear more of their STUFF. Also the Season live is incredible. you will feel goosebumps!
