Formé à Stockholm en Suède en 1995, le groupe de pop The Concretes se compose de Victoria Bergsman, Lisa Milberg et Maria Eriksson. Quelques temps plus tard, Markus, Martin Hansson, Ulrik Karlsson, Malte et Petr Nystrom viennent agrandir la formation. Après avoir sorti quelques maxis, The Concretes livre son premier album Boy, You Better Run Now, en 2000. Trois ans plus tard parait un disque éponyme, suivi en 2005 de l’opus Layourbattleaxedown. Les acolytes reviennent en 2006 avec le CD In colour.
Ils enregistrent également plusieurs chansons avec le groupe The Magic Numbers
