Sat 9 Apr – The Chemical Brothers

Para este pedo llegué bastante tarde. No tan tarde como para Porcupine Tree o, Dios guarde, Katatonia, pero sí cuando estaban empezando (con Galvanize, si no estoy mal) pero pues pura verga iba a correr. Ni que me gustaran tanto y ni que haya pagado tanto por el concierto). Así que tomándomelo bastante tranquilo, seguí caminando con la flamante maidafossetta con sus hot boots con toda la tranqulidad del mundo, y en la entrada no se pusieron tan pinches tracos como para que nos tardaramos más.

Si hay algo que me encabrona mucho es la falta de "estabilidad" horaria en cuanto a conciertos. Es una pendejada que para conciertos que yo hubiera preferido hubieran terminado un poco más temprano (Crystal Fighters la semana pasada) y otros que sí eran para tirar fiesta a lo largo (y algunas personas que estaban ahí, para que se les pasara el efecto de sus drogas) como este show, simplemente hubieran dicho "Nos vale verga, no son mis hijos…

If this is a slightly metal-tastic list this week, that's probably no accident. After all, metal music allows for a rather more dramatic intro, usually, although I don't think we could call this all that dramatic. It is one of the greatest intro guitar riffs ever, however. Marvellously simple, in theory - just Angus Young's endlessly repeated riff, Chris Slade's hi-hat rhythm, and the chant of "thunder", it builds and builds and eventually explodes into one of the band's greatest songs post-Back in Black.
