Ils ont tous deux fait partie d’autre groupes, respectivement The Wiseguys et Simian. The Black Ghosts décrivent leur style comme de la « pop musique perverse et personnelle ».
The Black Ghosts ont sorti plusieurs singles suivis d’un EP « Anyway You Choose to Give It ». Leur premier album (éponyme) est sorti le 8 juillet 2008. Ils apparaissent aussi sur la soundtrack du film Twilight, en 2008 avec la chanson «
Full Moon ».
