Platz 25: I Hear Sirens - Beyond The Sea, Beneath The Sky
Starten wir standesgemäß mit Platz 25: Hier finden wir eine Band aus Utah, USA, vor, deren Namen ich es zu verdanken hab, den Post-Rock für mich entdeckt zu haben. Klingt komisch, ist aber wirklich so. Ich hatte schon immer eine Schwäche für (meiner Meinung nach) kunstvolles und ungewöhnliches. Post-Rock schien mir sowieso immer mit der Zeit näher zu kommen (meine Liebe zum Instrumentalen beweist das (siehe Lockjaw, Pause und weitere...). Nun also dieser Name, der mir in einem Musikchat begegnete und in mir etwas wachrief, dieses Gefühl "Hey, das klingt verdammt cool" und so hörte ich mir den vorgestellten Titel The March an und er gefiel mir außerordentlich. YouTube hat die tolle Eigenschaft, wie last.fm, ähnliche Lieder vorzustellen und so kam ich über Umwege zu God Is An Astronaut (auf die ich noch näher eingehen werde), Caspian, Alcest, Cursive und so viele mehr. Und viele dieser Bands sind nun ins Abseits getreten, quasi alle außer GIaA. …

I love last.fm immensely and cannot imagine a life without my stats, but play count isn't the only indicator of a listener's devotion to a band.

Since two-minute pop songs rack up plays quickly, and half-hour post rock songs don't, let this list serve as a proper guide to my musical tastes.
