The Almost est un side project créé vers la fin de l’année 2005 par Aaron Gillespie (batteur/chanteur du groupe Floridien Underoath).
De nouveaux membres se sont joint au groupe depuis et The Almost est maintenant composé de Aaron Gillespie (chant/guitare), Jay Vilardi (guitare), Kenny Bozich (batterie), Dusty Redmon (ex Beloved/Dead Poetic) (guitare) et Alex Aponte (basse).
Aaron a joué de tous les instruments (sauf la basse dans certaines chansons) durant l’enregistrement du premier album « Southern Weather » (sorti en Avril 2007).

The Almost n’a pour l’instant sorti qu’un seul album mais nous pouvons néanmoins trouver d’autres chansons (non incluses dans « Southern Wether ») comme Hold on (bonus track vendue avec Itunes), une version acoustique de Say this sooner (bonus track vendue avec Bestbuy) ainsi que deux demos: I Mostly Like To Copy Other People et They Say You Can Never Write I Told You So In A Song But Here I Go ou encore Yule be Sorry (inclu dans la compilation « Happy Christmas volume 4 ») en duo avec Kenny Vasoli (The Starting Line/Person L).

Not sure how Underoath got better without Aaron. Their last album was pretty much along the path they were headed in with their last two or three records. Anyways, the Almost puts out some new tunes soon. Love Aaron's voice and music.
