You would never believe how much trouble moving to a new apartement can mean - except if you have actually done a similar not-so-well-organized-and-especially-unlucky moving such as this I am now experiencing. In tv commercials moving seems so easy: smiling family members carrying nice teeny weeny light boxes. The truth is far from that: sweaty men carrying banana boxes filled with almost forgotten thingamabobs is closer to the truth. At the moment I am going through the last ones of those boxes, and I have to admit that a) I am already planning a huge ball in honor of those sweaty, brave men that carried all those things upstairs here and b) I don't really know yet, where to put all those things.

During this process of moving I have been not connected to the internet. Although the last scrobbled songs in my profile seem to be 36 days old, I can assure you, I have been listening to music, though mostly from radio when working. I am now especially fond of Groove FM. …

This is Jimbalaya - But I've Never Heard Anything Like This, my second entry for the RPM Challenge. It's some sort of freakish rock/reggae carnival anthem that includes pieces of the following:

James Sutter - Firefront Recording Sessions
Syreeta - Your Kiss Is Sweet
Big Youth - Waterhouse Rock (Groove Corporation Remix)
Spoken-word-type samples provided by King Megatrip

Motown Records, also known as Tamla-Motown outside of the United States, is a record label originally based out of Detroit, Michigan ("Motor City"), where it achieved widespread international success. Motown played an important role in the racial integration of popular music as the first record label owned by an African American and primarily featuring African American artists to regularly achieve crossover success and have a widespread, lasting effect on the music industry.

Incorporated on 12 January 1959 by Berry Gordy, Jr. as Tamla Records, Motown has, over the course of its history, owned or distributed releases from more than 45 subsidiaries in varying genres, although it is most famous for its releases in the musical genres of R&B, hip hop, pop, and soul. Motown left Detroit for Los Angeles in 1972, and remained an independent company until 1988, when Gordy sold the company to MCA. …
