Switchfoot est un groupe de rock alternatif de San Diego (Californie, États-Unis) dont les paroles mettent l’accent sur des thèmes spirituels et sociaux.
Ses membres sont Jon Foreman (voix, guitare), Tim Foreman (basse), Chad Butler (percussions), Jerome Fontamillas (guitare, piano), et Drew Shirley (guitare).
D’après Jon Foreman, le mot Switchfoot vient du surf. « Nous aimons tous surfer et avons surfé toute notre vie, alors pour nous ce mot fait sens. Switcher tes pieds signifie prendre une nouvelle attitude en changeant de direction. C’est changer et bouger, une manière différente d’approcher la vie et la musique. »

grew up listening to these guys. are/were they ever supposed to be a Christian band? i remember that this Christian radio station used to play them a lot and I was like "hey, just 'cus their songs aren't vulgar doesn't mean you can claim this as religious music" but anyway, IDK.

I remember reading about one of the dorks from this band wandering into a Radiohead recording session (because both bands were using the same recording facility in Cali), and he actually thought he was in the right room and that Thom Yorke had come to the Switchfoot recording session! Yea bro, I'm sure Thom Yorke was really eager to come check out the latest Christian nu metal sensation polishing their latest turd.
