At last! Warp is re-releasing all Sweet Exorcist tracks recorded for Warp in the early 90s (Testone, Testfour, Clonk, Per Clonk & C.C.E.P.) most of them on CD for the first time. ABOUT EFFING TIME ;).

BTW, I always liked how the vocal sample on CCEP is used forwards on the A-side and backwards on the B-Side... there are some things you just can't do on CD ;)

‘Brain Aided Dancing’, an MP3 mix dedicated to music wrapped by Sheffield’s legendary design house. Every track included in the mix is plucked from my own music collection; sometimes bought for the sound, sometimes for the sleeve, and often a bit of both. It’s therefore a highly personal response to the Designers Republic’s work and the music within; there is certainly nothing comprehensive about it, and I’ve made no attempt to create a definitive record of their twenty-plus years’ hard labour. Rather, I have tried to engineer a mix that works on its own terms but that also stirs in a few of my favourite examples from their back catalogue. There are singles and there are album tracks - all were eligible so long as the sleeve bore the DR name.

Much hype and fanfare, but this really is rather excellent indeed and a bit of a bargain to boot. It’s been a long time coming but at long last Warp have compiled the definitive anthology of their video output since 1989 - with the exception of 4 videos, none of them have ever been available on DVD before. The DVD includes two stunning, never seen before videos for Aphex Twin and Jamie Lidell, plus classic videos for LFO, Sweet Exorcist, Seefeel, Autechre, Broadcast, Chris Clark, Plaid, Luke Vibert, Mira Calix, Prefuse 73, Beans, Antipop Consortium, Sabres of Paradise, Squarepusher, Jimi Tenor, John Callaghan, and Nightmares on Wax.
There are an incredible 32 videos included, directed by the likes of Chris Cunningham, David Slade, Lynn Fox, Ed Holdsworth, Jarvis Cocker, Douglas Hart, Designers Republic, Alex Rutterford, Laurent Briet and Pleix amongst others.
