    p.s. -- and if you're new to this band, for the love of god, don't let that absurd bio turn you off. This band produces some beautiful, ponderous music, a little like Bedhead perhaps, or maybe even more so like Hood. At the pace of minimalism and yet a bit too lush to *be* minimalist; a little too emotional and anchored for space rock; not enough obvious hooks to be shoegazer...but if you like music in those veins, then this band is well worth your consideration. If you've been a fan of The Antlers, then Spokane would make for an effective complement when you're looking to slow things down. In any case, they do beautiful work. Just disregard that ridiculous bio -- it does a gross disservice to a lovely, thoughtful bunch of musicians.

    I like this band quite a bit, and have been a listener for many years now -- but damn, whoever wrote the bio for this page is unbearably pretentious. I sure as hell hope it was written by some misguided prig of a fan, and not the band themselves: "... a vehicle to stand (however quietly) in objection to the west’s..." blah blah blah. Ugh, overwrought much?? As a professional writer, that degree of overt snobbery and obtuseness makes me cringe and grit my teeth. To whoever wrote that: Please, quit wiping your ass with the words that the rest of us have to use. Jeez-louise, have a beer and chill the frak out.

    i'm gonna start a genre called dumbcore if it doesn't already exist. The music is gonna be so infuriatingly dumb and it's composers/performers will act so dumb it will just be so preposterous that it's sure to hit with the dumbest of audiences. As for Spokane, I have just discovered them in the last 10 minutes.. What a nice band to discover! New music to be excited about, hooray!

    I've said it before and I'll say it again: You morons really need to look up the word 'core' in a dictionary. It wasn't invented to describe a style of punk. And those familiar with this genre will know that it is usually quite distinct from indie rock. Slow: "Not quick or fast" Core: "Central or most important part"

    spokane is some excellent stuff. as for the tags, slowcore and sadcore has been around as subgenres for a quite a while, deal with it. it is what it is. and it still doesn't stop spokane from being great.
