I don't see any blatant similarities between "perfect detonator" and "radio protector" except that both songs are mind-blowing post-rock songs made by two great bands and as such belong to the best examples of a more energetic but less atmospheric direction of post-rock, even though this classification is, of course, more than superficial.

"perfect detonator" is a bit too close to "radio protector" by 65DOS, still a great opening track though

New album is pretty tight, as I knew it would be, especially on the last three tracks. However it's no ...and then we destroyed everything, but hey that's one of the best records I've ever heard

I think that's my problem with it; I've seen them live a few times now and they're phenomenal and it just doesn't translate on record.

I really like the new album but I don't like the production - brickwalled, compressed and lacking fidelity.

The thing that's missing I think is the same problem shared by a lot of 'post rock' (I hate using that term, but sometimes it's just easier) bands: their studio sound can't quite capture the power of their live shows. The new album is great, but I really recommend you see and hear them on tour as well.

I agree. It's got all the ingredients of a great album but there's something missing

On my second listen through of the new album....it's good, but it feels much more generic than their previous releases. It just lacks the magic that their other albums seem to have imo.

I chose to listen to the best band ever. Loving everything so far, near flawless compositions and flow, very emotional and ideal.
