Autrefois chanteuse de Stiffed (groupe punk rock / ska de Philadelphie), elle s’est vu proposer un contrat pour continuer en solo. Santogold, son premier album sorti en avril 2008, a été co-produit par John Hill de Stiffed. Diplo et Switch (producteurs notamment de M.I.A.) ont collaboré à plusieurs titres orientés dub et electro. Cependant, son style reste ancré dans un mélange d’indie rock, de new wave et de punk.

yes they can, they merged florence and the machine with florence + the machine so now there's just florence + the machine but i'd rather have florence and the machine and santogold in my library :(
