Red Lorry Yellow Lorry est un groupe de musique rock anglais de Leeds comme The Sisters of Mercy.
Le groupe s’est formé en 1982 autour de Chris Reed, très vite, les premières démos aboutirent à des enregistrement, et John Peel s’intéressa à leur travail et le soutint. La musique du groupe, dès le départ, était marquée par les sonorités de guitare, la voix grave du chanteur, et des textes exprimant l’angoisse ou la terreur.
Le premier album du groupe fut réalisé en 1985, après plusieurs tournées européennes.
En 2004, le groupe s’est reformé pour une tournée.

Some female fronted symphonic metal is quite good, the problem is finding it. The good bands are immersed in a sea of over-merchandised, mass produced not-really-metal artists that are metal in name only, gothic in name only, and are only apart of the gothic-metal genre because of the clothes the lead (female) vocalists wear to gigs

Thank you... this is why you should turn to deathrock or darkwave... "Gothic" started somewhere and from where it started was artistic, obscure and beautiful. Female-fronted symphonic metal is today perception of "Gothic" ...Absolutely useless.

yep alt, the early stuff wasn't at all, coming from Leeds plus the era they existed in made them seem like part of the movement, more than I ever thought they were.

Brilliant band, not Goth at all at their inception or at least they didn't seem to be, sort of transformed into it later, then dipped back to be less gothy later. Saw at the electriv ballroom in 86-ish - absolutely one of the best bands I have ever seen.

I saw the Lorries in London in 1989. Loud guitars and huge, relentless drums. Good show. Definitely a goth band at the time. I had never seen so many people with black lipstick.
