This is an ongoing project whereby I am listing, as they occur to me, what I consider to be perfect albums. This is an extremely strict standard; even one lousy track disqualifies the album. Essentially, I have to be able to put the album on and like every single song, with no skipping past tracks. And so, the list:

The Joshua Tree
This is not only U2's best album, but one of the best albums ever, period. It was the pinnacle of both Bono's evocative lyrics and what the Edge has called his "silver sound." This album just kills.

Throwing Copper
In 1994, this album came out of nowhere and blew me away. I liked what I was hearing on the radio but the deep tracks are even better. There's a nice variety of songs and themes, and the whole album has a real passion to it. Ten years plus and I still love this album, from start to finish.

I was giving this matter some thought the other day. Some albums have absolutely storming title tracks, which quite often go unnoticed by the general populous as, more often than not, they are album tracks and not singles. This is not always the case of course, but it still prompted me to go trawling through my CD collection in search of excellent title tracks. Bare in mind this is by no means a definitive list (and not in any particular order), but based on what I have to hand. Feel free to chip in with any titular delights!

Tango in the Night
I've only got into this album recently, but I'm enjoying it immensely, as it draws on the best aspects of Fleetwood Mac, particularly accentuating Buckingham's writing talents and Nicks' vocal talent. Perhaps my favourite track on the album (although I also love Big Love, the opening track on the album) is the title track, not least because it is really quite different to anything else on the album. …
