This a classic heavy metal album. Totally not glam. I own an actual 1983 compact disc of this album! :D

Not glam metal, closer to traditional hard'n'heavy.

It really is amazing that this album became the first metal album to go to #1. Don't let that fool you into thinking it's some sort of metal classic, though. I've got nothing against QR, but they just weren't that great of a band. They lacked songwriting talent and the fact that two out of their three biggest hits were Slade covers should tell you everything you need to know. Yes, their version of Cum on Feel the Noize is great and blew the original out of the water and Metal Health is a certifiable metal anthem, but that's just two great songs and the rest is just mediocrity. Hey, it's better to be a one hit wonder than to have never had a hit, I guess, so credit be to them. The best things about this album are those two awesome tunes, the classic album cover art, and the fact that they dedicated a song to QR founder (and my all-time favorite guitarist) Randy Rhoads. That song isn't all that memorable, but it's the thought that counts.

Easily Quiet Riot's best album. Call it glam metal or whatever, this is a great album. All the songs are really good.
