Somehow As Rome Burns keeps getting better year after year. Such amazing feels, one of these days it might just make me suffer a severe intracerebral hemorrhage.

This is without a doubt my favorite song of all time. There's just, fucking, NOTHING that even gets close to this for me, in any genre, of any year. Whenever I get into a serious discussion about music, about what I value in music, whenever someone tells me that they don't understand the appeal of Metal because it's all just noise and screaming, I try to play them this song. Strangely, while very rarely does the average person appreciate it to anywhere near the same level as I do, they almost always recognize this is something different, something special as opposed to whatever their conceptual notion of Metal is. Not only does it have the writing chops, the technical skill of the performers, and the perfect production job, but it also has (like most Primordial songs) a certain x-factor, feeling, passion, atmosphere, whatever you want to call it that launches this band from just plain good Metal into Great Music.

How is this folk metal. The music is black metal and doom metal. Folk metal is a thrashy heavy metal music with folk music.

No doubt, this is one of those songs that kills a live audience with an incredible feel, especially when everybody sings that obsessive: "sing, sing, sing to the slaves....". Extremely powerful and indeed one of Primordial's best songs.
