Yesterday I cornered the elusive Gonzales and locked him in a panic room where he can only play piano for me. We made a tune and it was a great day. Hooray!

Poor old guy. I mean if you take a photo of someone you might
catch them in bad light or whatever, but this artist has actually
sat there for an hour and made sure to catch those wonky
gravestones at exactly the worst angle. Mean.

I recently saw this really good film called 'Commercial Street Lift' (Filmed and Directed byMarc Isaacs) over at the Voodoo Village blog. Apparently it was on TV a few years ago, but only just appeared online...Its basically footage taken from spending hours standing in the lifts of a block of Flats in Commercial Street. Sounds banal but its weird, funny and quite touching. good movie- check it out-

It also made me think of this short movie by Chris Marker which I havent seen in years, which is probably the benchmark for what you can do with no money, a brilliant story, and some amazing photographs. Chris Marker's 88 years old now. I wish I could go meet him and talk about time travel.

I cant find the english version, but if you live near a FOPPS its like 6 pounds andcomes with another film called 'Sunless' which I'm not even gonna get into today,but its awesome. -

I've got an album called Mess Detective coming out in the next two weeks at Rough Trade...Its a mess, its a mix of stuff Ive done in the last 7 years,its got really great artwork by http://www.hollisbrownthornton.com/, and it doesnt sound anything like Clint Eastwood...in fact he would probably hate it,except for the jazzy bits...wooop!
