This is just too good to be a b-side album [2], some of their best work is on this release

Why don't you try to inform, ignorants? >> As Porcupine Tree’s popularity has grown over the years, fans have been eager to explore the band’s back catalog and earlier pieces have become highly collectable with deleted albums, EPs and promos regularly changing hands on eBay for extortionate sums. The jewel in many fans collections is Recordings, a highly sought-after CD originally released in 2001 as a limited (20,000) edition release featuring songs written during the Stupid Dream and Lightbulb Sun sessions. The 2010 digi-book CD reissue provided the new legions of fans with the chance to own this important part of the band’s history, but this is the first time that the collection has ever been available on vinyl. I agree, this is much better than "Stupid Dream." And I love "Stupid Dream"; very much, in fact. But "Recordings" is better. Even if you can compare the two, because considering the two releases... you really can't. But yes, it's still better in terms of what I enjoy listening to more.

Personally, I prefer this to perfect Dream, but I've only hears each a couple times.

The full version of Even Less is vastly superior to the Stupid Dream version, IMO.

if every band could make even their b-sides sound so classy, one of the wonders of the world wouldn't be going down

Probably the greatest PTree album ever. I will go as far to say that it is one of my all time favorite albums by any band! With tracks like Buying New Soul, Even Less(the 14 minute version) and [Untitled] - the instrumental version of Buying New Soul, it would be difficult to not call this a masterpiece.

Buying new soul is absolutely great. And the epic version of Even Less too.
