One of Syd's best songs lyrically and musically. Such a brilliant constructed tune!

I agree with anyone who thinks that this should have been released.

This song is so quintessentially Syd. I wish they would have officially released it at some point...At least there are several good quality bootlegs out there :D

i was told that at one point they were considering releasing this as a single, with the b-side being 'scream thy last scream'...they really fucked that one up. would love to own that.

I remember I heard this song a very long time ago.. didn't like it at all. But now I can't get enough of this song. And it keeps getting stuck in my head.

the more i listen to this, the better it gets. the hardest parts of this song rival the stooges and the softest parts rival the beatles. i can't believe they didn't release this as a single, i can't think of another song like it. sheer brilliance.

Peter Jenner called this "a song Syd wrote describing himself as he sat in the room of the studio". Many cite it as a document of Syd's monumental breakdown as a recording artist and as a person. Jenner wanted the song to be released on the Syd Barrett rarities album Opel, however the band blocked its inclusion.

Why this never made it on Piper or Suacerful of Secrets is beyond me. This is better than anything Waters of Gilmour ever wrote.
