That's actually what I'd love to do but I can't afford all of their albums and I don't have the patience to queue the library cd:s either... so I have to choose one or two at a time. :) Anyways, thousands of thanks to all of you! I think I know what to look for when I'll be going to the record shop tomorrow. :)

I've not heard Meddle. I found Animals to be great from my first listen, much easier to get into than Wish You Were Here for me.

Animals is very great but probable a bit hard to get into. I guess Meddle would be good and then mostly One of these days and Echoes. While the other songs are great too it's not the PF sound you'd expect since you listened to DSOTM and WYWH. Also check out: http://www.last.fm/music/The+Final+Arrow

You might want to try Meddle (1971) before Animals which is hard to get into on first listening. Meddle on the other hand is more melodic then Animals and laid some of the foundations for Dark Side of the Moon.

Could you help me a little? Since Pink Floyd changed a lot during their years I'd love someone to recommend me the Pink Floyd album I should hear (or probably buy) next. Wish You Were Here and The Dark Side of The Moon are pretty much perfect to my mind. The Division Bell and The Wall weren't as good as them. Those are all the Floyd albums I've heard so far. (I simply don't know why I haven't searched for more of their music since they are one of my favourite bands....) I've heard that Animals is awesome?

It's not the bands themselves that are overrated, but some snobs who pretend to be avid fans of them just to be cool, because they think that listing Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin among others sophisticates your taste in music. Real fans shouldn't give a damn about posers of any kind.

There is no such thing as "overrated". Really what is "overrated"? The artist isn't gaining praise for no reason. To say Pink Floyd or The Beatles is "overrated" is quite a silly thing to say since their impact and influence is so profound. Those who term music usually are inept to do so as in "Those who can't do, teach" Really it's "Those who can't compose, criticize." "Can you say...piss off?"
