People under the stairs (PUTS) est un groupe de hip-hop alternatif américain composé deThes One et de Double K originaires de San Fransisco. Formé à la fin des années 90, ils sortent en 98 leur premier LP « The Next Step, suivront 5 autres albums. Bien que largement méconnu PUTS est un groupe phare du hip hop underground. Leur style musical, proche de celui de Tribe Called Quest, The Pharcyde, ou de leurs potes de Los Angeles Ugly Duckling, renoue avec l’esprit originel du rap : une boite à rythmes, quelques samples et une voix. Ils sont aussi très réputés pour leurs concerts plein d’humour et très proche du public.
