Биография

Первоначально Free System Projekt был соло-проектом Марселя Энгельса (Marcel Engels).
Его первые альбомы, особенно "Pointless Reminder" - мелодичная версия berlin school of Electronic Music.

Начиная с альбомома "Atmospheric Conditions from 2002", группа "Free System Projekt" или "FSP" это трио, в которое помимо самого Marcel Engels ещё вошли играющие на секвенсорах: Руд Хей (Ruud Heij) - также известный по Patcwork, и Франк ван дер Вельт (Frank van der Welt). Трио продолжило играть в лучьших традициях электронной музыки от Tangerine Dream. В их последних альбомах заметны следы влияния классических мелодий Tangerine Dream: фантастическая атмосфера синквесторных и мелотроновых звуков и струнных эффектов. Наряду с английским проектом Red Shift и Radio Massacre International, Free System Projekt являются лучшими наследниками Tangerine Dream.

Marcel Engels о себе:

Я всегда стараюсь сделать такую атмосферу, которую можно часто слышать в электронной музыке 70-х и начала 80-х, у таких команд и композиторов, как Tangerine Dream, Neuronium, Jarre и Schulze.
Также на моё творчество заметное влияние оказывает музыка Pink Floyd, Camel, Pulsar, Ozric Tentacles, Orbital and The Future Sound of London и многих других исполнителей.

Разжился новой музыкой — некие Ozric Tentacles, о которых раньше ничегошеньки не знал, как ни странно. Довольно-таки древние перцы, которых всё никак в какой-нибудь жанр не запихнут. Мне достались файлики с тэгом «Space Rock»; пожалуй, стоит так и оставить, вполне подходит. Оба раздобытых альбома — «Erpland» и «The Yumyum Tree» — уже второй день слушаю за работой.
