One Republic est un groupe de rock américain originaire du Colorado. Ils se font connaitre avec le single Apologize en featuring avec le rappeur Timbaland.

OneRepublic s’est formé en 2002 à Colorado Springs (Colorado) sous l’impulsion de Ryan Tedder (chant, piano, guitare) et Zach Filkins (guitare). Relocalisé à Los Angeles, le duo engage Drew Brown (claviers), Brent Kutzle (basse) et Eddie Fisher (batterie). En 2003, le groupe décroche un contrat chez Sony BMG. Au bout de trois ans, la major lui rend son contrat. Repéré sur MySpace, OneRepublic signe ensuite sur le label Mosley Music Group tenu par Timbaland. En 2007, le producteur inclut à son album Shock Value son remix du single de OneRepublic Apologize. Ce titre connaît un succès mondial et lance la carrière international du groupe. OneRepublic livre dans la foulée son premier album Dreaming Out Loud (2007). Ce disque est édité en France en 2008.

    From the deep roots of Africa grew 5 young children who were forced to live in cages until the tender age of 10. During their solitary confinement they were made to play music using the bars of their cages in hopes that they would become famous musicians one day and no doubt this was the case. As the boys grew older they grew more famous and richer as a result. They toured Africa in their cages playing several different orchestral tunes with the bars of their cages, even collaborating with their other confined brothers on the occasion. Eventually the brothers had settled in the Central African Republic where they signed a record contract with Baba Mugwambe, the CEO of AfricaRec. They then went ahead to form OneRepublic, in loving memory of the Central African Republic.
