Ochre is the stage name of English electronic musician Chris Leary. The name « Ochre » was originally adopted as the title for Leary’s academic work while studying audio production at Newcastle College. It refers to the colour ochre, and is also a variation of « Oaker », the name of a street in Manchester where Leary spent his early childhood. Leary also holds a Master’s degree in music. His compositions are characterized by complex, lyrical melodies, and a clean production style.
