    Likewise,what John died of.. Last year I lost a dear close friend and bandmate to stomach cancer,too.. Gary was 56.. Too fuckin' young!.. Mortality sucks!.. So,this really hits home for me.. John was good with a guitar! ..Of course I will still hear him while I listen to NROTPS but also I will think of 'Marmaduke' everytime I hear "Friend Of The Devil". .John helped co-write it.

    JOHN "MARMADUKE" DAWSON (1945-2009) John passed away peacefully on July 21, 2009 at the age of 64 in Mexico, where he had retired several years ago.

    The Riders were highly under-rated. Those of us who listen to their stuff and play, well, let's just say that we understand the down-home thinkin' that went into their music. If I had a dime for every foggy memory I've lost while listening to their music.... I'd probably forget where I put them... LOL
