Necrophagist est un groupe allemand de brutal death metal technique, créé au début de l’année 1992. Le groupe se forge un style qui est très technique tant à la guitare, à la basse qu’à la batterie et est accompagné d’une voix brutale. Le frontman du groupe se démarque notamment par son utilisation de gammes néoclassiques pour ses solos, à la manière de shredders comme Yngwie Malmsteen.
C’est avec la sortie de son deuxième album « Epitaph » en 2004 que le groupe commence à se démarquer en Europe. Necrophagist est alors invité à de grands festivals européens et américains.
Necrophagist pourrait être résumé à son leader : Muhammed Suiçmez. C’est en effet lui qui signe toutes les compositions, à l’exception de « Symbiotic In Theory » sur l’album « Epitaph » (épaulé par Christian Muenzner), allant jusqu’à enregistrer lui-même la quasi-totalité des instruments sur « Onset of Putrefaction ».

I've seen Necrophagist twice, and both times they were perfect. Practically every solo perfected by Sami Raatikainen.

" No it sure doesn't but I also play guitar and while I am no where near the skill of these guys I still can recognize how difficult and challenging it is to play music such as this... @ SpamForBrains - Yeah sadly a lot of bands are bad live, I remember seeing Amon Amarth live and they were amazing but I rate their music as being above average nothing too exceptional but still good nonetheless. I saw Behemoth live and I don't really listen to them but they were AMAZING live. To me it seems there is no written rule that says one way or another if a band is going to be good live or not and as my experience with Behemoth taught me - mp3z are different from live so it works both ways... A band that is amazing in the studio may be crap live just like how a great live band's studio recordings could be bad. wall of text. Necrophagist owns.
