This should be pretty brief, it's 2:30 AM and I'm tired and I got a lab test tomorrow so here we go:
Sea Wolf isn't new to me. Sea Wolf is an old friend, and I love Sea Wolf as such. I bought tickets to see
Nada Surf two years ago specifically to see Sea Wolf, and considered leaving before the main set. (I'm glad I didn't, Nada Surf is electric live, and I got to dance on stage to
Blankest Year)
Their debut,
Leaves In The River, is to be quite blunt, fucking awesome. It's mellow and catchy in all the right places.
You're a Wolf,
Middle Distance Runner,
The Cold, the Dark and the Silence...these are songs that I would listen to for days on end. the title track,
Leaves in the River, is a very sweet little song.
This isn't about the stellar Leaves in the River though, this is about
White Water, White Bloom, which is one of the best sophomore efforts I've ever listened to.
Wicked Blood opens up the album with a super catchy song,
O Maria! is amazing, the album is amazing. Go buy it. Now.
and as for an album I've been listening to for a while now, the
Imaginary EP by
The Happy Hollows is amazing. It literally, rocks my face off. I hope Sarah and the gang find this, since they usually find my social networking sites. They quite literally found and added me on a myspace I had that I didn't know existed. It was some crazy detective work, and they are crazy talented musicians. Saw 'em open for
Silversun Pickups almost exactly 2 years ago (October 24th, 2007) and they stunned me. They have an album,
Spells, but I haven't a credit card, and no store around here sells it. Curses!
