Growing up in the late 1980s/early 90s, with charts flooded with pop music, there are quite a number of albums released during this time that have stuck with me as favourites. Here are ten of the albums that influenced me the most. They are in no particular order as picking ten has been hard enough as it is.

I had just got my first keyboard when this was released, and my sister bought the album on cassette. We used to listen to it all the time when being driven to and from school or (more likely) to and from my grandparents' houses. Glam rock (also known as glitter rock), is a sub-genre of rock music that developed in the UK in the post-hippie early 1970s which was "performed by singers and musicians wearing outrageous clothes, makeup, hairstyles, and platform-soled boots." The flamboyant lyrics, costumes, and visual styles of glam performers were a campy, theatrical blend of nostalgic references to science fiction and old movies, all over a guitar-driven hard rock sound.

Largely a British phenomenon, glam rock peaked during the mid 1970s. The most famous exponents of the movement were Marc Bolan and T.Rex, Gary Glitter, and Slade. Other influential performers include David Bowie, Alice Cooper, Sweet, Wizzard, Roxy Music, Mud, Mott the Hoople, Queen, The Glitter Band, The New York Dolls, The Tubes and Suzi Quatro.

I think everyone has been through that journey of music. Just think back to those days you actually start listening to music and where it ended (I think that's after your puberty, right?). I have been on a journey with some terrible music, but in the end I think it made me the music 'nut' I'm today!

I've been listening to my mum's music for my entire childhood. Elvis Presley, Mud, Dr. Hook and The Beegees were heard in our house almost daily. But boy, did I love them. When I was about nine I heard Elton John for the first time, it might have been on Lady Di's funeral. Really sad though, but for me it was a new experience in music, which I loved! Elton John's Love Songs is the first album I ever purchased in my life! And damn yes, I was proud!

From that moment on there was this fase where I've been listening to the happy hardcore which was going on in the 90's. You might remember! But when I started listening to it, the genre was dying a bit. But still, I loved it! I never took any party drugs or shaved my head or anything. …
