I think the remix and remaster helped a lot I listen to black metal so I'm used to bad production but the r and r was able to clean it up without making it sound artificial. It's still raw and angry just like it should be

I love the lo-fi aspect of the album. It just fits what Megadeth was all about at that point in time: raw, gritty, and in-your-face.

The original art is much better [19] I have no idea why Mustaine hated it. I even like the logo more than on the other releases..

Sometimes I wonder how much more kick ass the sound could be if over half of the budjet wouldn't been used for heroin and speedballs...

Very good debut. Great. Dirty and energy in the right measure.

Great release, murky thrash sound and strong over-the-top attitude, and no weak tracks. Can't pick a favourite song!

References 11 and 12 are dated. If I remember right, he makes a mention of it again in his 2010 biography with Joe Layden. So the original art is not Mustaine's doing. The remastered is more like something he'd have wanted.

From wiki: The album's artwork, featuring a plastic skull with tinfoil, was not intended to be the original artwork.[11] Both guitarist and vocalist Dave Mustaine and bassist Dave Ellefson had many phone conversations with Combat records to get the cover artwork properly reproduced from a sketch given to them by Mustaine of a picture of Megadeth mascot Vic Rattlehead on the cover.[12] However the studio lost the artwork, and instead made their own improvised and low-budget replacement, with which Mustaine and the whole band were mortified.[12]
