Marina & The Diamonds is the stage name of Marina Diamandis, a solo artist. The Diamonds are considered to be her fans rather than the backing group. She played at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Swindon early in May 2009 [2] and will play the Glastonbury Festival in June[3]
Debut single Obsessions/Mowgli’s Road was issued on Neon Gold records in the US and this will be followed by the Crown Jewels EP in June 2009 featuring the songs I Am Not A Robot, Seventeen, Simplify and I Am Not A Robot (Remix)[4].

@Andrey, Marina said that the current track listing is not the final tracklisting, so it's quite possible that she might add Seventeen or Jealousy before it's done. Personally I don't care if Seventeen (or Simplify) are on the CD or not because I already have them on CD and I fully intend to burn my own CDR of the album once I get it with any missing songs added on the end.

Marina is a great artist that is destined to for great things, so enjoy the fact that you have some contact with her now because there will come a time when she just can't do this anymore. Just imagine that you knew Madonna before she released her first album and you get the idea. As for the "new songs" question, most people only know the singles (Robot, Mowglis, Obsessions) and the possibly additional songs from the summer (Shampain, Girls) live set, so to most people the remaining 7 songs are new. The only reason that more people know more of those songs than they should is because someone loaded them up on that 777 web site, and if I remember correctly, the person that loaded them onto that site is also one of the "disappointed" people, so go figure! Personally, I feel privileged to have been able to hear most of these songs in demo form and I'm really looking forward to hearing the final full-band versions. My only disappointment is that we have to wait until Feb to hear them.

@FuGen "Hollywood" is a perfect pop song - which is what marina is best at. And im a big fan of all her other tracks so i don't think she's particulary targeting a type of audience with this. matter of opinion i guess but i think the song is catchy as hell! Video is fab too.

okey, wtf was that!? just heard Hollywood and it's despicably awful. both the song and the video. i <3 Marina and Mowgli's Road/Obsessions single is still one of the best things that happened to (pop) music in 2009, however, this new track is a huge step back. i can only assume what type of audience they are targeting with this. seriously disappoint.
