I know! Its just that hellroadie sings a good deal of it.. And im used to Blind Guardian you know? Where they have alot of stuff happening in mid length songs. Its not just about being catchy....its about sounding interesting and clever compositions. The songs are a bit too heavy to just chill out to I think....well its a matter of taste.

Im not bashing the band here in any way. I love the Road! Im just venting some frustrations.......

The second part of the song is faster(that doesnt mean better or anything just faster) and has a fairly decent chorus. And then comes the second solo which mostly consists of repetetive scaling at breakneck speed......I dont like it that much. About the other songs. Imperious rise is just redundant. Rome's highlights are the second solo(which im more fond of than Fall of Illiam's) the downsides of the song is that I cant stand Hellroadies falsetto and the overlong outro just makes me turn off the song. Overall the song's are just overlong and repetetive. I mean think about it......even Atlantis rising had that. verse-chorus-verse-chorus-solo-chorus structured songs that are stretched out for three minutes more that they have too! Even cool songs like Betrayal suffer from that. and then there's Hellroadies voice "Stand of Dee Sphooorrrtans". Epitaph of the King still ranks among my favorites though! And the first trilogy is really solid!

Nope! Ive listened to intensely for almost a year now and I can safely say I Really dont like that middle section! I mean The Fall of Illiam plays the same riff through almost the entire song and I dont like Hellroadies vocals. But that's not all! The in my opinion best part of the song(the first solo) is not really as melodic and well thought out as it should be and that theme just sound's soo unmemorable! You know what would have been cool? If they varied the theme or put a lead, harmony or counterpoint on it! Now it just sound's kinda droning.

Three concepts inside one record... That should be interesting.
