This is a sweet band. I can't stop listening to them. Their music just takes you places, and regardless of genre, that's a good thing. And another amazing aspect of Lycia is consistency. I can't think of a single below-average album in their huge discography. Anyone else dig the title track of the Ionia album as much as I do?

Hm.. A lot of the albums had aesthetic similarities on most of the songs according to that album, and, indeed, the tempo is the same. But when you compare bands such as Love Spirals Downwards and try to claim it to be more of a "variety," the tempo and atmosphere are just about the same in a lot of Love Spirals Downwards' songs. And I would assume many bands generally try to maintain and shape their own image without varying too greatly in their sound, except for perhaps acts such as Einstürzende Neubauten. But yes, as said before, it is more in the spirit of aesthetic appreciation and getting into the atmosphere of it.

Most of Lycia's songs are pretty similar and i have no problem with that, i love their style and just like N808a4 said if you want something different listen to another band. By the way black metal is usually pretty much the same, if you find differences in black metal and you can't tell the difference between the sounds from Lycia's catalogue you are just biased (and i bet you are pretty damn biased when i read something like "I tried skipping to the middle of a track, then the middle of the next" Jesus Christ just listen to the damn album and get in the mood! (and i recommend a wintry and very natural landscape, if you listen to it in a 7th floor in the middle of a metropolis (i'm not saying you are stormchasar) i think it really helps in not gettin the sound nor the proper mood).
