v Seconded. Hard-panned vocals through a whole album? Awful on headphones...

this album sounds great with speakers but with headphones it's too much

You talk about mixing and *not* mention Dave Fridmann's loudness war bullshit and egregious clipping/overcompression?

Still a struggle to get through. Not sure how much you should have to *try* to get into an album.

Glad to see others noticed the mixing on this as well. I like this album but it kind of ruins it for me. I primarily listen to music on headphones and having the vocals panned hard right the entire album is really distracting and hard on the ears.

So many bands could learn from this album's mixing. It's beautiful.

My favorite Low album by a long way, but it was the first I heard... Breaker, Dragonfly and Murderer are just killer tracks sonically and lyrically.

Strange mixing, but overall a very good album. Hatchet is amazing.

The stereo mixing was a bit tough to get used to on headphones, but even that grew on me. Definitely one of the best albums of 2007 when given its chance. Sure, it's different than their earlier work, but still awesome :)

I would disagree with it being disappointing. The only frustrating thing may be the stereo mixing which also grows with time. The whole record's a kind of brilliant departure.

Murderer's worth the money alone. The other tracks aren't bad I guess, but I'd so much rather listen to Great Destroyer, Trust or TWLITF.
