The version of The Rain Song on this album must be one of the most beautiful things humankind has ever had the pleasure of listening to.

[original release] I don't have enough words to describe how much this album amuses me. It blows my mind every time. Actually, to me this is one of the ultimate live albums of rock n roll history, along with Live at Leeds (The Who) and many others... I kinda feel happy for mankind because this exists.

@GregCano Yeah I thought the same regarding the "Achilles Last Stand"-bits :D I just love the version of Dazed and Confused on that album, it's nearly unbelievable what these four guys have done on stage...

Tagging this with "heavy metal" is just weird...

@ Dequis I don't see how this album could be boring, it captures the true Cosmic Energy of a Led Zeppelin show and the boxed set is amazing. Yet, after seeing the cynical rubbish on your profile, it's understandable how you could miss it.

Was it an hallucination or did I rally hear bits of "Achilles Last Stand" in the the middle of "Dazed and Confused"? Anyway, brilliant live album. Especially "Dazed and Confused" and "No Quarter". And what an amazing musicianship and chemistry they had.

The studio version of "stairway..." sounds so clinical and constrained compared to this live one.

The LIVE versions of many of these songs out the studio versions to shame, especially from Houses of the Holy and LZ III !!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's never enough 20 minute drum solos. Especially when the drummer is John Bonham.
