Last Saturday, I went to Santa Ana's Galaxy Theater for the "Pink Zeppelin" tour, an evening featuring a few great local cover bands: Which One's Pink (covering Pink Floyd), Led Zepagain (Led Zeppelin) and Brain Salad (ELP).
I had not seen Which One's Pink live in a long time, and the weekend gig was a good opportunity to see their usually very entertaining performance.
I had not bought tickets in advance for the show, and fortunately it wasn't sold out, as the venue was really packed! It looked like we would have to stand in the crowd, but fortunately we were able to get a table with a very nice view of the stage, and get some dinner at the same time.
The first band of the evening was the ELP cover band, Brain Salad, which had quite an impressive setup with a huge drum kit and a big modular analog synthesizer, which I suppose is another nod to Keith Emerson (and reminded me of Erik Norlander's setup). …
