Land of talk est un trio montréalais composé d’Elisabeth Powell au chant et à la guitare, Chris McCarron à la basse et Eric Thibodeau à la batterie. Leur 1er EP « Applause Cheer Boo Hiss » sorti en avril 2006 sur le label Dependent Music contient 7 titres. Leur premier album « Some Are Lakes » est prévu pour octobre 2008 sur Secret City Records au Canada et Saddle Creek Records aux USA.

The EP's probably going to take me a number of listens until I might really like it. It's certainly good but I haven't been immediately impressed as I was with the first EP and album. Graak48's video of May You Never (1996) a few months ago is my prefered version as is usually the case with the first version of a song I hear - I prefer the riff with the bassier tone on that video. I think they didn't really need that solo in the middle of the song on record either; something about it seeming a bit out of place in a LoT song
