Don't know why so many people are saying she's a the next big superstar, her sound isn't that accessible she wont reach too far in mainstream music unless she caters her sound to the mainstream.

madonna changes her clothes and style in every launch of a new album. rihanna changes her hair in every launch of a new album. lady gaga chages her "LIFE" in every launch of a new single. and you call lana del rey a plastic? sorry, she's not plastic, not all these girls who change her body parts are plastics. but you're in a WORLD OF PLASTICS.

I know her when she released Video Games before Interscope. I want her album NOW!

As much as I want it to leak, I hope it doesn't this soon. If it were to leak, Lana wouldn't get the proper reviews, profits, and promotions as she should. This has happened to JoJo. Her album which was supposed to be released two years ago leaked, so she postponed it and has been holding off the release of her studio album since. So if it were to leak, it would be awful for Lana.

Everyone's talking about how her music used to be so different, but I really don't see her having drifted away from her previous sound that much. The songs on the Lizzy Grant album are pretty similar to Video Games and Born To Die. [2] EXACTLY.

Yeah, she doesn't want people to know her by her old material because she's singing songs like Video Games now. She's moved on. She doesn't want us to know her by Lizzy Grant because her music is different now. It'll be like Katy not wanting people to see her as the Christian singer she was. I never said I was a better fan for liking her older work, but if people are going to imply that her older work "sucked because it's not her anymore", then it sounds like people are more into what's commercially acceptable rather than the quality of a tune. You also don't have to be a fan to like her "newer material", either. Just because she doesn't want people to know her by her "real name" doesn't mean she doesn't appreciate her past. She obviously appreciated it at one time until she realized it wasn't marketable.

@BarneyJWY OMG did I say you couldn't hear the old songs? I said there can be two types of fans, you don't have to like her old songs to be her fan, simple as that. Stop misunderstanding what I say people. If you like it, fine, but there's no such thing as "if I like the artist then I should like everything that he/she does". And she said that Lana and Lizzy were the same people at that interview when she was asked if her "being" as an artist was affected by the names, not if she appreciates that past or not, in fact, she did say she didn't want people to know her by her old material so that's why she removed it from iTunes.

Um, what's wrong with listening to Lizzy Grant? It'll be like trying to stop avid Tori Amos fans from listening to Y Kant Tori Read or Eminem fans from listening to Infinite. Even if they are a shame of their debut work, fans are still going to "love it" because it's by their favorite artists. I like Lizzy Grant and her more folksy songs. I also like her new material and am aware we may never get Lizzy Grant back, but Lana Del Rey even said in an interview that they were basically the same people. So obviously she appreciates her older work and still has a soft spot for it. Lana Del Rey fans can listen to her old work if they want.

WHAT HAVE I DONE? Why did I have to say Katy Perry's name on this shoutbox? Look at what I caused! Does it take a lot of time to scroll down a little bit? FOR ALL OF YOU BITCHING ABOUT IT, everyone was talking about being a Lana fan longer than the newbies that arrived and because of that, I posted that there was no need to actually listen to old Lana songs when she was Lizzy Grant to be her fan, THE SAME WAY you didn't have to like Katy Perry church songs when she was Katy Hudson to say you are her fan. DONE. BOOM. I never compared them both so stop talking about how ridiculous it is to compare them, because no one did it. Are you all happy now? Ridiculous is not actually reading what people are saying and coming here to mock this shoutbox out. Don't have anything to add to the discussion? Fine, go do something else.

There is no comparison. The only thing they have in common is that they started out with their real name singing different music, but didn't get any success from it. So now they're known for their recent work. Again, Katy wishes she could have the lyrical and vocal talent as Lana.

Are we really comparing the overproduced, formulaic, and contrived pop "artist" that Katy Perry is to Lana Del Rey? [2]
