Kamelot est un groupe sur lequel il faut compter ! Depuis quelques années, ils fascinent leurs fans avec leur propre style de power metal mélodique, la voix charismatique de Roy Khan, et le jeu de guitare puissant mais aussi fascinant de Thomas Youngblood. Si on y ajoute le batteur Casey Grillo et le bassiste Glenn Barry, la marque de fabrique du groupe en devient parfaitement reconnaissable. À cette formation s’ajoute le claviériste Oliver Palotai qui était dès lors un simple musicien de tournée, mais qui, depuis l’album Ghost Opera, est devenu un membre intégrant de la formation américaine. Chacun de leurs albums est marqué par des compositions de qualité et une impressionnante maîtrise technique. Dans le même temps, Kamelot n’a pas cessé d’affiner leur style, année après année, au fil des tournées et des albums.

As far as I'm concerned, the last cheesy song Kamelot made was Across the Highlands, with a couple of cheesy moments on Ghost Opera (like the first verse of EdenEcho).

Personally don't consider them underrated, I know many people who think of them as the only good power metal band. Maybe they're not very popular, but that's a different thing.

Sonata Arctica is not fail. [3] Tallulah is definitely cheesy, I agree, but I can't agree about End of this Chapter :P Also I'd say that Kamelot can be cheesy sometimes - lyrics like "carried by destiny" and "I'll be the best I can" spring to mind :P

To make all the comments short. Kamelot is just overflowing with Awesomeness. Tbh I like cheesy lyrics, it so much easier to listen to music when they are telling about dragons. I like Rhapsody a lot. (still I like Kamelot a lot lot lot more)

Sonata Arctica is NOT a fail but i have to admit they're the kings of the corny songs - eg: shy, tallulah, last drop falls, End od this chapter..

I agree.They have some kinda cheesy moments,but its not Sonata Arctica cheesy (ie:fail).I would only say they are underrated by the more mainstream metal fans rather than in general,considering the 14 Million listeners and such.

the best things that I've found on Kamelot is their music is powerful, but they don't sing about dragons stuff like DragonForce or Rhapsody, and they don't have much cheesy ballad like Stratovarious. And the best thing is Khan is not gay like Manowar or something...

All power metal bands are cheesy tbh. They sound as the opposite but their lyrics talk by themselves. There are few power metal bands who don't write about dragons and dungeons, Kamelot is one of 'em. And that's why they're so special. (Appart of Khan, of course :P)

Reason why it took me long to discover this bad was because of the name. Kamelot instantly filled my mind with knights, dragons and all that dark age stuff. My first listen to the song Ghost Opera was quite the surprise.

I was under the impression flower metal = power metal in general :\ I can't think of a single power metal band that isn't quite a bit cheesy xD (not that cheese is bad, when well-managed :P)

There are a lot of people who think that Kamelot is "flower metal" or poster children for the cheesy power metal genre, as if they've never heard anything they made after Karma. I'd say Kamelot is underrated as long as these people exist.
