7th grade, change of school, the start of my teenage years. Nothing worth mentioning, I suppose. None of the below records were known to me back then. I had no clue.
Ground-Zero - "Plays Standards"
I know very little about Ground-Zero. They were a japanese improv/jazz group. I heard "Folhas Secas" on Last.fm radio in the mid-00's and I was intrigued. I had to get the album. I almost don't want to learn anything more about them as I like a bit of mystery behind this very interesting record/group. I.
Junior Kimbrough - Most Things Haven't Worked Out
I love Junior's guitar playing. He's got a very droning style for a bluesman. Almost hypnotic. For the majority of people, Most Things Haven't Worked Out may be second to All Night Long in the man's discography but it's no less brilliant. Check out "Burn In Hell" for starters.
