Jonathan Richman est un chanteur américain, né le 15 mai 1951. Initialement connu comme leader des Modern Lovers, groupe considéré comme l’une des meilleures influences de la scène punk-rock américaine, Jonathan Richman a poursuivi une longue carrière, atypique, discrète et extrêmement prolifique.
Excellent guitariste, chanteur délicat et sensible, d’une nature semblant exceptionnellement candide, Jonathan Richman est doté d’une voix particulièrement expressive et ses multiples changements de style ont fréquemment surpris ses admirateurs. Son attitude sur scène est imprévisible et fraternelle, il se comporte fréquemment en grand-frère de son public, rallongeant ses shows à la demande, créant avec lui une forte complicité.

"Twice a year we have special programming called "Orgy Season" in which we play solid blocks of themed music (an artist, a record label, some more obscure theme - you can find info about them on our website: http://whrb.org/orgies.html.) This year, on Dec. 2nd, from 5am to 5pm, we're going to be doing a Jonathan Richman Orgy and playing as much of his music as we can fit straight through".
