  • The last decade was pretty good music wise. I guess.

    8 jan. 2010, 17h41m par logbut

Yeah... I hate doing those best of whatever year lists; i can never remember what came out that year or not. The end of the decade has, however, let me realize how many awesome records came out in the last ten years. fuck putting them in order, and whittling it down to 10 or even 50, I'm no good at that. Just be happy they are alphabetized by artist.

Many of these records are basically what made me who I am today. I tried to keep it at one album per artist, though I think there is 1 or 2 exceptions to that rule. Oh yeah I also chose to leave out collections and reissues, only stuff that has been recorded between 2000 and 2009. enjoy.

Against Me! - Reinventing Axl Rose
This record really helped energize a whole scene into being creative and energetic again. Say what you want about them now, but this record is still fresh and fun and uplifting to me every time I put it on. When this came out they sounded like they could take over the world, but few people actually expected them too. …

  • Thrashcore

    7 juin 2007, 8h05m par dr_gore

the general purpose of doing this is not to flaunt my collection (i know at least 3 people with a far more superior collection)...in fact, i don't even know why i'm doing this. but i encourage everyone with a decent collection to do the same, simply 'cos having a vinyl collection at all is cool...

  • 2007, go!

    3 jan. 2007, 3h25m par exliontamer

Okay, hopefully 2007 will work out a lot better for me musically than 2006 did. Don't get me wrong, 2006 was okay, it saw the release of the long-awaited HvsD EP, but since I've been in Japan I've been slacking. I have all kinds of songs and music written, I just need to record it all. And I want to start like 3 bands.

Bands from Japan that you need to check out:

Gauze - Probably the best thrash band in the world.
Jellyroll Rockheads - The first reason I used "probably" in the preceeding line.
Mind of Asian - The second reason I used "probably."
The Futures - Insane, fast, loud.

More trendiness. This one seems fun. Take your top 10 artists, tally the sum of their listeners, and divide that number by 10, to get the mainstream rating.

    1. Dystopia - 935
    2. Psycroptic - 2,049
    3. Melt Banana - 16,495
    4. Spazz - 2,006
    5. Suffocation - 4,592
    6. Cryptopsy - 13,981
    7. Fuck...I'm Dead - 4,804
    8. The Lord Weird Slough Feg - 786
    9. !T.O.O.H.! - 426
    10. Jellyroll Rockheads - 264

    Mainstream rating: 4,633.8

Take the rating, and divide it by last.fm's top artist's number of listeners to get your percentage:

    Mainstream percentage rating: 0.014296

Melt Banana is the most popular artist in my top 10? Sad.
