Jello Biafra with the Melvins

Les Jelvins
Après des rééditions et best of, les Melvins se mirent à d’autres collaborations tout d’abord avec Lustmord, artiste pionner du Dark Ambient, avec l’album Pigs of the Roman Empire. L’autre collaboration fut avec Jello Biafra ex-chanteur et leader des Dead Kennedys.
A noter toujours la présence d’Adam Jones à la guitare que soit avec Lustmord que Biafra.
Jello Biafra with The Melvins, souvent surnommé Jelvins, sortent le fruit de leur première collaboration dans Never Breathe What You Can’t See sur Alternative Tentacles (label de Jello) en octobre 2004. Beaucoup plus teinté Punk et Heavy Metal que leurs dernières productions, les Jelvins remettront le couvert l’année d’après avec Sieg Howdy! entre reprises, live, remix et nouvelles compos.
Après des ennuis diverses et variés (annulation de la tournée Européenne de 2004), Kevin Rutmanis fut remercié par le groupe. David Scott Stone assurera temporairement la tournée 2005 de Jello Biafra with The Melvins.
C’est Trevor Dunn (ex Mr. Bungle) qui officiera durant l’ATP Festival où les Melvins ont été invité à jouer en entier leur album Houdini. L’idée germa et ils entreprirent de réenregistrer l’album Houdini en live.
Le résultat sorti en mai 2006 sous le nom de A Live History of Gluttony and Lust.
