Es ist doch immer wieder unglaublich , wie schnell die 6 WGT - Tage vorbei sind :-(( ... Wie jedes Jahr wieder war die riesen Fete so richtig geil und viel zu kurz ! Den ein oder anderen Tag hätte man da ruhig noch dran hängen können .

Die Anreise am Donnerstag brachte leider neben dem schlechtem Wetter direkt ein weiteres Ärgerniss : eine kilometerlange Warteschlange entlang der zum Agra - Zeltplatzgelände führenden Strasse . In der Hoffnung , das sich das mit der Anstellerei nach ner Stunde erledigt hat , bin ich erstmal zum Globus Markt gefahren
und hab mich mit Grillkohle , Anzünder , Fleisch , Wurst und Getränken eingedeckt , soweit die fehlende Kühlung das erlaubt . Leider hat sich , zurück an der Agra , die Anstellerei nicht erledigt . Genau wie vor 2 Jahren verplemperte man also mal wieder 2 - 3 Stunden damit , auf die viel zu späte Zeltplatzöffnung zu warten . Das machte leider das einem eh schon viel zu kurz vorkommende Event noch ne gefühlte Ewigkeit kürzer ! Genau wie vor 2 Jahren will der Veranstalter einfach nicht begreifen , das die Leute nicht in Leipzig eintreffen wie er es gern hätte , sondern eben schon Stunden vorher . Hoffentlich lernt er es nun endlich ! Letztes Jahr hat es ja schließlich auch geklappt , den Platz halb eins zu öffnen und nicht erst halb drei wie vor 2 Jahren schonmal . Kaum das man den wagen auf der PKW Parkfläche abgestellt hatte , begann die ewige Schlepperei des ganzen Krams vom Auto zum fürs Zelten vorgesehenen Gelände . Schade und vor allem nervig , das man nicht direkt am Zelt parken kann , denn machbar wäre das durchaus ! Durch die in der Warteschlange verschenke Zeit war nach Zeltaufbau und Schlepperei auch schon wieder fast der komplette Donnerstag vergangen und des ersten Tages Abend brach an . Zeit also , den Grill anzuschmeißen und von Stress und Ärger auf Spass und Fete umzuschalten ! Dank lecker Hähnchenfleisch , Würstchen , Grillkäse und natürlich dem Wichtigsten überhaupt , Met und Bier , war das dann auch relativ einfach ! Zum Glück spielte auch das Wetter halbwegs mit , sodas es zwar kalt aber wenigstens trocken war . Der mit kleinen Hagelkörnchen "garnierte" Platzregen am Nachmittag war eh schon überflüssig genug . Noch mehr braucht dann erst recht Keiner !

Der Freitag begann mit einem Abstecher in die Stadtmitte zum Frühstücken und zum Besuch des Mittelaltermarktes auf der Moritzbastei . Dabei handelt es sich um eine gut erhaltene Burgruine mitten in der Leipziger Innenstadt . Oben drauf ist der Mittelaltermarkt samt Bühne und unten drin in den Kellergewölben sind Gastronomie und Veranstaltungsräumlichkeiten . Noch eher wenig bekannte Acts spielen dort live und anschließend legen verschiedene DJs auf .
Nachmittags ging es dann in den Kohlrabizirkus . Dort spielen Freitags und Samstags die metallastigen Bands . Am Freitag spielten UnSun , Dies Ater , Sanity Obscure , Noctiferia , Katra , Autumnblaze , Tyr und My Dying Bride . Unsun ist eine polnische Gothic Metal Band mit stimmlich und optisch toller Sängerin . Bei Dies Ater handelt es sich um eine deutsche Melodic Black Metal Band . Die doch recht häufig verwundert bis verstört drein guckenden Zuschauer lassen vermuten , das vielen WGT Besuchern die Band nicht bekannt war . Dank der fetten Akkustik im Kohlrabizirkus war es ein Genuss , der Band zu lauschen . Sanity Obscure ( Springtime's Masquerade ) , ebenfalls aus deutschen Landen , boten doomlastigen Gothic Metal mit Frauen- und Männergesang . Gefallen haben sie mir gut , obwohl es schon oft Gehörtes gab . Wirklich Innovatives und Neues fehlte mir dann doch schon etwas . Sehr außergewöhnlich dagegen waren die nun folgenden Noctiferia ( Bring out the beast ) aus Slowenien . Was diese Band bot , war ein Orkan aus fettem Death-/Black Metal mit ner guten Portion Elektronik garniert . Er fegte die Gehörgänge der Anwesenden frei und führte bei Einigen auch zu fett Nackenmuskelkater verdächtigen Headbanging Einlagen . Für mich war es die beste Neuentdeckung des 2009er WGTs und CD- und Shirtkauf werden in den nächsten Tagen mit Sicherheit fällig . Katra ( Scars in my heart ) aus Finnland war wieder so ein typischer Gothic metal Act mit oft gehörter genretypischer Musik . Gut war auch diese Band dennoch , was aber am ehesten an der hübschen Sängerin lag .
Autumnblaze kann man wie Dies Ater gut und gern als Melodic Black Metal bezeichnen , wenn sie auch etwas rauher rüber kamen . Netter Krach ;) .
Danach sollten laut plan Tyr folgen , jedoch blieb es still . Die Band steckte glaube im Stau und wurde deshalb auf nach Mitternacht verlegt . Gesehen habe ich sie nicht mehr , da ich nach My Dying Bride genug Konzert für einen Tag hatte . Sehr ärgerlich , denn von Freunden erfuhr ich , das sie eine sehr geile Show abgeliefert haben . Hoffentlich ergibt sich da noch mal ne Gelegenheit , die Band anderswo sehen zu können . My Dying Bride ( My Wine in Silence ) spielten planmäßig . Die band ist zwar gut ,
aber nach so einem langen Tag fehlte irgendwie einfach die Abwechslung für 80 min . Es kam mir so vor , als hörte sich ein Song an wie der andere .
Von der Konserve gefallen mir My Dying Bride dann doch deutlich besser . Der Tag insgesammt war alles in allem sehr gelungen .

Auch der Samstag startete vormittags mit einem Frühstück in der City Leipzigs bei den Bagel Brothers . Anschließend gings in die Absintherie Sixtina ,
einer richtig cool aufgemachten Bar mit über 120 verschiedenen Absinthen sowie Absinthbier und Absinth Cocktails . Dicke gewölbeartige Mauern mit aus Kirchen bekannten Fresken und dazu szenetypischem Inventar geben dem Laden ne absolut kultige Optik . Nachmittags stand auch am Samstag wieder der Kohlrabizirkus auf dem Plan , diesmal mit Ava Inferi , Atargatis , Megaherz , Eden weint im Grab , Draconian , Hollenthon , Edenbridge , Samael und Opeth .
Die ersten beiden Bands boten Gothic Metal . Während er bei Ava Inferi ( Pulse of the Earth ) eher doomlastig war , gabs bei Atargatis ( Wasteland ) eine mehr epischere und speed metal lastigere Version . Beide Bands waren sehr gut , genau wie es auch wieder die Akkustik vor Ort war . Auch war die Halle diesmal wesentlich voller als Tags zuvor , was sicher auch daran lag , das viele Besucher erst im laufe des Freitags zum WGT anreisen . Brechend voll allerdings wurde der geschätzte 4000 - 5000 Leute fassende Kohlrabizirkus dann zu Megaherz , einer aus früheren Jahren ja sehr bekannten Band . Die typische Mischung der Neuen Deutschen Härte Bands gabs hier und dazu ne lebhafte Bühnenshow . War richtig gut was die jungs da geboten haben . Megaherz hätten sicherlich genau so gut als Headliner die für geschätzte 6000 - 7000 Leute Platz bietende , deutlich größere Agra Halle gefüllt . Eden Weint Im Grab ( Krieg im Wunderland ) folgten nun mit deutsch betextetem Midtempo Black Metal und somit mit völlig anderer Musik , entsprechend wurde es dann auch deutlich leerer . Der erste Live Auftritt der ursprünglich als Studioprojekt geplanten Band war echt klasse und bot verständlich gesungene , anspruchsvolle Texte , die man dank der guten Akkustik auch im hinteren Bereich der Halle verstehen konnte . Hoffentlich folgen von E.W.I.G. noch weitere Live Auftritte ! Draconian ( The Apostasy Canticle ) erfreuten mit Gothic Doom Metal vom feinsten . Vom Frauen- und Männergesang her und auch vom Tempo her abwechslungsreich
war der Auftritt sehr sehens- und hörenswert . Hollenthon ( Lords of Bedlam ) bot im Anschluss einen sehr vielschichtigen und abwechslungsreichen Metalk Mix . Death- , Black- und Gothic Metal Elementemit epischen und orchestralen Elementen , dazu technisch und kompositorisch anspruchsvolle Riffs und Songstrukturen . Eine äußerst genialer Mix , der faßt schon in Therion oder Haggard Manier nach nem Auftritt
mit Chor und Orchster schreit . Auf jeden Fall hammergeil und eines der besten Konzerte des Festivals ! Die Enttäuschung des Festivals folgte direkt darauf in Form von Edenbridge bzw deren Sound . Für mich ist Edenbridge ( Shadowplay ) ne absolut geile Band und ich hab mich richtig gefreut , sie mal live sehen zu können . Enttäuschend war jedoch der extrem beschissen abgemischte Sound , wodurch alles als völlig übersteuerter Brei rüber kam und Sabines Stimme sich dadurch kaum entfalten konnte . An der Location lags jedenfalls nicht , da ja ähnlich pompös musizierende Bands wie Hollenthon , Noctiferia und KMFDM (Headliner am Mo) richtig gut klangen . Samael war dann wieder richtig genial und bot ne richtig fette Show . Der Sound stimmte wieder und das Konzert war ein Erlebnis . Opeth als Headliner war dagegen wieder eher enttäuschend . Der Mix aus Black Metal und ruhigeren Klängen bei den alten Sachen war von der Lautstärke her zu unausgeglichen und die an die Leinwand projizierten Videos zu rasant geschnitten . Auf der Konserve stimmt die Lautstärke zwischen Soft und Hart und die Band klingt genial , das Konzert dagegen gefiel mir nicht . Aber das ist halt Geschmackssache , wir sind jedenfalls nach ner halben Stunde etwa gegangen , weil ich nicht der Einzige war , dem es nicht gefiel . Alles in Allem war auch der 2. Tag im Kohlrabizirkus sehr gelungen .

Der Sonntag startete wie üblich mit den Bagel Brothers und der Sixtina . Danach war die Bahnhofspassage dran . Dort mußte ich Geld holen und ein Vitaminschock in Form von frisch gepresstem Mehrfruchtsaft stand auf dem Plan . Und saubere Klos gabs da natürlich auch . Die werden halt deutlich öfter gereinigt als die Kontainer auf dem Festivalgelände . Danach stand das Heidnische Dorf auf dem Plan . Das schöne Wetter machte dem Gammeltag zum Vergnügen . Ritterbier , Fassbrause , Kartoffelspalten , Pilzpfanne , Hanffladen , Rosinenstütchen , Kräuterbrot und natürlch der Hanfmet von Alles in Gärung ... Gammeln , fressen und Saufen ... so relaxt kann n Festival sein ! Und das alles in einem Park auf großen Wiesen unter Schatten spendenden Bäumen ... genial ! . Abends gabs dann Qntal ( Name der Rose ) zu sehen und hören . Open Air in der Umgebung ne feine Sache . Allerdings wars brechend voll , voller als ich die Hauptbühne im Heidnische Dorf in den 8 Jahren je gesehen habe . Das ging schon den ganzen Tag über so , was auch zur Folge hatte , das die paar Dixies dauernd besetzt waren und Schlange stehen angesagt waren . Wie jede Nacht nach den Konzerten traf man sich dann noch ne Runde am Wärme spendenden Grill und genoss die Nacht mit lecker Würstchen , Met und Bier ! Ein weiterer rund um gelungener Tag , aber leider schon wieder der Vorletzte ! Was Spass macht ,geht immer viel zu schnell vorbei :(

Bagel Brothers und Bahnhofspromenaden samt Vitaminshock gabs auch am Montag wieder , die Sixtina allerdings nicht . Dank zusitzender Stirnhölen war mir eher nach nem Schläfchen im Zelt zu Mute :(
Nachmittags stand dann nochmal das Heidnische Dorf aufm Plan . Da es sonnig und trocken und auch recht warm war , machte das wieder mal richtig Spass Dadurch konnte ich mich nicht dazu durchringen , zur Parkbühne zu Inkubus Sukkubus zu gehen . Daher bliebs dann abends bei nem verdammt fetten KMFDM Konzert im Kohlrabizirkus . Die 7jährige Tradition des Feuertanzes in der Agra war somit gebrochen . Schließlich sieht man ja KMFDM auch eher selten mal in der Krefelder Nähe . Die Sache wars jedenfalls wert , denn der Mix aus treibenden Elektrobeats und fetten Gitarrenriffs kam genial ! Ein würdiger Abschluss des WGTs 2009 .
