Ingrid Michaelson (née en 1979) est une chanteuse / compositeur New-Yorkaise.
Ses parents sont eux aussi artistes. Son père est le compositeur Carl Michaelson et sa mère, Elizabeth Egbert est une sculptrice et la Directrice Executive et la présidente du musée de Staten Island. Ingrid apprend le piano dès l’âge de 5 ans. Elle rejoint l’école Third Street Music School de Manhattan jusqu’à 7 ans, puis rejoint pour quelques années le Jewish Community Center of S.I.’s Dorothy Delson Kuhn Music Institute. C’est là bas qu’elle rencontre son coach vocal Elizabeth McCullough avec qui elle travaille pendant ses études.
Elle est diplômée de l’université de Staten Island (Staten Island Technical High School and Binghamton University) où elle est également diplômée en théâtre.
Sa musique a été utilisée pour plusieurs séries télévisée (notamment utilisées dans les bandes originales des séries Grey’s Anatomy et One Tree Hill) et pour la campagne publicitaire « Old Navy Fall 2007 Fair Isle Sweater ».
