Peter Gabriel's voice would have easily fit on this album. You just complain because it has some songs meant for a Collins solo album on there without also listening to the album as a whole.

i've been a big genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, duke. before that, i really didn't understand any of their work. too artsy, too intellectual. it was on duke where phil collins' presence became more apparent. i think invisible touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. it's an epic meditation on intangibility. at the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of banks, collins and rutherford. you can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. in terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism. Ok Bateman. [2]

"Best 80s Genesis effort." probably because it was completed in '79. Technically the last '70s Genesis, and one of my favourites.

murrr i do have a soft spot for the self titled, but the drumming on this one is very well recorded, adds a whole new dynamic to the album.

Best 80s Genesis effort. And I love the cover. It has a real sense of loneliness to it I like.

This album turned me on to Genesis and is still a favorite in my CD player. At one point I had this in album, 8 track, and CD. There isn't a bad song on the album and I love Dukes Travels/ Duke's End. I saw them in concert in 1980 and it was an amazing show.
